When you use our Virtual Host Service, your customers get the impression that you are spending BIG bucks on your own physical Web server. With our redundant T3 Internet connections, the fast speed at which they retrieve your pages implies a significant investment in hardware, software, and Internet connection. With a Virtual Host account you can have a Web site hosted on our servers with your own domain name. Example: http://www.yourcompany.com. You get 25MB's of space on our server for your Web content, and 2,000 MB's of data transfer per month for no additional cost. File by file Web statistics such as number of hits and bytes transferred are available as well as daily detailed WebTrends reports. With your FTP user id and password, you can modify your Web pages around the clock and in real time. In order to have a Virtual Host, we will need to register your domain name. With our Virtual Host service, your Web address will be http://www.yourdomain.com. No need to remember long Web addresses with multiple sub-directory names and slashes.

Dedicated Server Administration

We offer dedicated server services for those customers who have outgrown a shared server. Spiderlink Systems Administration package gives Dedicated Server clients an out-of-the-box solution tailored to their web server needs. Spiderlink will set-up, maintain and administer your dedicated Web, Cold Fusion, and/or SQL server.

Email Forwarding

If you have already registered your Domain Name with us, we can forward any mail sent to yourname@yourdomain.com to your current email address (e.g. yourname@aol.com). This service includes unlimited user names for your domain. Also, with our on-line Self Service Email Administration Web page, you can set up forwarding to multiple email addresses. For example:

Our Email Forwarding Service is not the same as a Pop3 Mail account. Our Pop3 Email Account is a separate service. However, all the functionality with our Email Forwarding Service is available with each Pop3 Mail account. For more information on obtaining a Pop3 account with Spiderlink, see our Pop3 Email Account Service below.

You can register for your Domain Name and sign up for email services by filling out our On-line Order Form. If you have already registered your domain name with us, and wish to also sign up for email forwarding, send us email at request@spiderlink.com with your request.

Pop3 Account Services

A Pop3 Email account is an electronic mailbox on the Internet. Most Internet Providers like MSN or Netcom give you a Pop3 Email Account when you sign up with them for Internet access. Many of these Internet Service Providers however, impose many limits on email accounts. Such limits include:

1. Cannot use your own domain name (yourid@yourdomain.com)
2. Disk space Limitations (space for message retention)
3. Usage Limitations (number of messages sent/received per day)
4. Limited Features (automatic replies, forwarding etc.)

With our Pop3 Email account, you can:

1. Use your own domain name (yourid@yourdomain.com)
2. Have up to 10 Megabytes of space with no extra charge
3. Send/Receive unlimited messages. Unlimited usage.
4. Administer your account on-line (replies, forwarding etc.)

Use of Pop3 and Email Forwarding accounts for the purpose of sending
out mass unsolicited email is strictly prohibited.

All the functionality in our Email Forwarding Service described in the section above is included with your Pop3 Email Account. If you are unsatisfied with the email account from your current ISP, you can get your own Pop3 Email Account with us for $15 per/month. There is a Setup fee of $15 to get this account activated.

With this service, you can set up automatic replies, temporarily forward your mail to other recipients in case you go on vacation, and change your Pop3 password on-line through our Web page interface. Your email address will be YourID@spiderlink.com or YourId@yourcompany.com if you have registered your domain name.

Unlike our email forwarding service, this Pop3 account can replace your current Internet Service Provider's (ISP's) email service. You can easily configure your email package to connect to your mailbox on our Pop3 server. You will still however need an ISP for Internet Access.

Databases are unarguably the best way to manage large amounts of information. You can upload your Microsoft Access, Fox Pro, Paradox, Dbase, or any ODBC capable database. Creating interactive Web pages for any of these data sources using Cold Fusion is easy!

Microsoft's Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) protocol together with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) and Allaire Cold Fusion, you can quickly and easily design a complete Web interface to any of these data sources. If you are familiar with SQL and know how to create database tables, fields, and queries, you are on you way to making your data available live to the world in the form of a Web page! People visiting your Web page can even insert, update, and delete records from your database depending on how you decide to set it up.

Microsoft SQL Server 7.0

We now offer customers the option to use Microsoft SQL Server as their database back end for their Web applications.  Although Microsoft Access is the most popular database used at Spiderlink, SQL Server is the best choice for high traffic sites.  Our SQL Server account comes with 100MB's of disk space for your SQL Server database and transaction log.

This service makes it possible for you to host an Interactive Conference much like a newsgroup. The Allaire Conference Application is Web based and much more flexible than traditional newsgroups. Conferences are made up of Forums, also known as 'categories' where people can post related questions and answers. There is built in searching capabilities so people can easily locate specific information in your Conference. Unlike newsgroups, it is easy for the moderator to edit and delete postings if they do not belong.

With the Microsoft FrontPage server extensions installed on your Web account, you can design and edit your Web site on-line.  There is no need to use an FTP program for uploading your files. All you need is Microsoft FrontPage and some creativity!

With the Microsoft FrontPage server extensions installed on your Web account, you can also take advantage of the cool features that come with FrontPage.  The Web bot's that come with FrontPage can be used to spice up your site.

Without a secure server account, all data entered into a form can potentially be viewed by prying eyes over the Internet. When data is entered into an on-line form, sensitive information such as Credit Card numbers, Passwords, etc. passes from the Web browser to the Web server un-encrypted and therefore insecurely.

We offer two types of Secure Server accounts.

1. SSL account with your own URL

A secure server connection requires the use of a digital certificate assigned by a company such as Verisign.  In order to acquire a certificate, a private/public key pair must be generated by the server where the Web site will be hosted.  Next, the interested party must sign up with Verisign by give them the public key, company name, address information, and domain name.  This can all be done on-line using their on-line Web form.  After Verisign receives payment and approves the request, they then need to assign the interested party a "digital ID", which is is then installed on the server.  This process is time consuming and costly, but it is necessary in order to be able to use your own domain name for performing secure transactions using SSL.

2. SSL account with the Spiderlink URL.

Spiderlink Web Services has already gone through the process of acquiring a digital ID from Verisign.  This has enabled us to securely use our own URL for capturing sensitive information such as credit card numbers.  You can avoid the high cost of acquiring your own digital ID by using our digital ID for those on-line forms that need to be secure.  With this service, we create a separate directory for you to place your secure HTML forms, and create a "virtual directory" so that you can direct your customers to these forms using our URL.  Example:  https://www.spiderlink.com/customer_directory/secureform.htm

With both secure server accounts, you can display secure on-line order forms where by the data passes from the Web browser to the Web server using SSL encryption. SSL, also known as Secure Sockets Layer, is a protocol adopted by both Microsoft and Netscape. Using our secure server CGI script, your customers can safely enter sensitive information into your secure on-line forms with no threat.  You are also welcome to create your own custom scripts using our Cold Fusion service.
